twin bridges

On Sunday after church we went to the Twin Bridges camp site, about half an hour away. We started a little fire and had hobo's, hot dogs, and s'mores (really just marshmallows..it was so hot outside all the Hersey bars melted before we were ready to eat them). We played in the water for a couple of hours and it was so relaxing. It's a great spot for the kids..the deepest water only comes up to my waist, the water is crystal clear and there is a boat dock for everybody to hang out on. There are also picnic tables and tons of places for camp fires. It was sooo much fun!

So after we took the kids for pizza and snow cones we took a walk on the greenbelt and let the kids play in the water by the boat ramps. Its not the most desirable place to be..but they loved it.

We took the kids to Crossroads Pizza..we heard it was pretty good and as we all know Kai is obsessed with trains and they have a train that goes around the top of the restaurant. It did not disappoint..it was so yummy and kept the kids entertained the whole time. Uncle JL taught the kids how to dip their pizza in parmesan cheese and now that's the only way they will eat it. It makes such a mess..thanks JL! After pizza we took them to The Caboose shaved ice place across from the green belt. Kai loved playing on the train car and the snow cones were awesome.

My brother JL came for a visit on the 24th...he instantly bonded with Bojangles, our cat that we were giving away the next day. Poor kitty got a love torture session..it was all JL could do to hold on to him, but hold on he did!

kai fell while jumping off his bed and got a humungo goose egg for it. the pictures don't really show how bad it was..but it basically took up the whole left side of his forehead. and of coarse he had to have a band-aid..

We made our first trip to the river by Heise on Sunday after church. The kids were so excited that it is finally warm enough. Last summer we went to the river once or twice each week. We just go to the same little spot every time. The water is really shallow and its a nice way to spend quiet time with the family. Oh and we took our new dog Dougrr with us..he was in heaven.

WORK

So I thought Bri never really looked at our blog. He mentioned it the other day and I could tell something was bothering him. After a little banter he told me there was something that he wanted me to change that he found really insulting to him. I was like what in the world did I say? He scrolled down to one of my tags..it was the one one word tag, where you had to put only one word after the word given. For spouse I put "work" because that's where he was at the time. He thought I meant that I was saying that him being my spouse was work. Not love or great, but work. Sad. It was a good laugh for both of us.

The Crocodile

While we were at the mall this week Kai kept saying that he wanted to ride the crocodile. We had no idea what he was talking about, but finally figured it out. When we go to Dillard's the kids love to ride the escalator, Kai couldn't pronounce it right so he has always called it the alligator. He knows that alligators and crocodiles are pretty much the same, hence crocodile=escalator. Just thought it was a little comical and knew the only way I would remember it later is if I blogged it.

Father's Day

He's not perfect...but he's perfect for us!


Meet Bojangles...Brian's Father's Day present.
I am not a cat lover, but Brian loves them and so I sacrificed.
What can I say..I'm perfect.
Sadly:) poor Bojangles is going back after living with us for a week.
She is being replaced with a dog which we are yet to find.
Happy Father's Day anyway.
